Grow your YouTube Channel pt 1

People often ask me how to grow a YouTube channel. The problem is that they usually ask me either before they start a channel or after they post their first three videos which all received fewer than twenty views. The primary key, the one thing you MUST DO, is to simply start the channel.

That’s it. I know you were looking for the heavens to open up, the earth to shake and unicorns to fly across a rainbow filled sky, presenting the secret to being successful, but unfortunately there is no such secret. You can’t have a successful channel if you never begin. If you never begin, how can you grow your YouTube channel?

So now that you’ve found out the big secret, what do you do next? Good question. Get a pen and pad, a laptop or whatever you prefer to take notes with and start planning. Oh wait, you thought there was no real work or effort involved? You thought you could just upload a vlog about your morning routine and go viral? Think again.

Determine what you want your channel to be about. Once you have that figured out, think of video ideas. WRITE THEM DOWN. Write down scripts. You want to have several ideas so you aren’t just randomly recording and talking nervously about the first thing that comes to your mind – not that there’s anything wrong with improvisation, but for most people, it’s not the best way to start a YouTube journey. Once you have done these things, you’ll be ready for step two.
